Handmade necklace in the UK using ethically sourced white bone beads. Brass clasp fastening.
The beads used are from ethically sourced buffalo bone which come from Indian families who use the buffalo on their small holding farms for manual work such as ploughing fields, transporting goods as well as for milk. Once the animal has come to the end of its natural life, to honour the buffalo, they use every part of the animal from its hide to its bones. Each bone bead is then handmade by workers that are paid a good wage.
Lowri's suppliers have personally visited the farms to ensure that both the the animals and the workers are well looked after.
Bone beads have been used for thousands and thousands of years by people all over the world. She loves the connection with this ancient tradition and the deeply sacred honouring of these beautiful creatures.
