This 14 monme silk crepe represents the pinnacle of sustainable textile craftsmanship. Hand-dyed using concentrated plant-based dyes—myrobalan, catechu, sumi ink, and red bayberry—each 93cm square develops its own distinctive character through traditional bundle-dyeing and spattering techniques. Leaf cutouts and minute particles are meticulously arranged and wrapped before dyeing, creating an organic, unrepeatable pattern where beauty emerges from controlled chance. The resulting khaki tone carries a subtle luminosity inherent to this labour-intensive eco-print method. At approximately 52.5g of pure silk per piece, this is a textile where every variation tells the story of its creation.
